Synaptic says: compiz: Depends: compiz-gnome but it is not going to be installed Depends: libcompizconfig0 but it is not going to be installed It seems like a dependency problem between compiz and libcompizconfig0 (latest in repository is 0.7.8-0ubuntu4). 2009-03-10 17:14:13 Botond Szász compiz: statusexplanation Marking as invalid. The problem was that I was not using the main server for the update, but a mirror. Once switching to the main server, the upgrade works fine. Sorry, was my mistake.
