compiz.real crashed when running glxgears with DRI enabled in xorg.conf

Binary package hint: compiz

I was getting only 500 odd FPS in glxgears while an older computer with a much slower processor did >700. So I enabled DRI in Xorg.conf and found the FPS rose to 580, but compiz crashed while glxgears was running.
