Intrepid: Compiz settings selector blanks although the setting selected still functions

Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

RELEASE: Intrepid
CD/DVD VARIANT: Ubuntu desktop i386 cd
ISO BUILD: 20090929

SYMPTOMS: Compiz is functioning as expected however in System->Preferences->Appearance no setting is selected

CAUSE: Unknown

1/ Run ubuntu cd
2/ Goto System->Preferences->Appearance click on the Visual effects tab
3/ select a setting and close the window
4/ re open the window and the settings are blank

I think the target of ubuntu-8.10-beta for this is unrealistic now, and that this should be deferred until post-beta?

I uploaded a new compiz/libcompizconfig that should fix it, this needs some real world confirmation (my setup for reproducing this was a bit artificial).

This should be fixed now with the latest upload of compiz-fusion-plugins-extra (confirmed in my test machine).

Please check it too and let me know. If it is still a issue for you, please reopen.
