Bug Description

Binary package hint: totem

I am using Hardy Heron (32-bit) and for some reason, totem became stuck in fullscreen mode. The only way to exit was to use the controls at the top or press alt+f4. If I tried to disable fullscreen, I would get aspects of full and windowed mode. See screenshots.

If the bug has already been reported, would you care to flag this as a duplicate? I've looked for dupes of this bug but haven't found any.

I am also suffering from this problem, and my screen looks exactly like what you see in Screenshot-2.png.

I am unable to switch from fullscreen to normal.
I am able to quit with alt+f4 or 'q'.
I have tried purging and reinstalling totem with no change.
I am running the pre-release version of 8.10 with updates current as of this morning...

Disabling all desktop effects makes totem behave normally.
This is not the best solution, but it is a workaround.

Sebastien--if it's a duplicate bug, use the "Mark as Duplicate" link near the top left of the page. (Two lines under the bug description) and select the bug that is a duplicate. That way everyone knows which bug is the 'master' and which bugs are the dupes. It also helps so the subscribers of the 'dupes' get attached to the master bug and get notified when a fix is released.

the bugsquad doesn't have the ressources to look for exact numbers for all the duplicates, users can do that though
