Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

In Hardy, compiz restores windows few pixels behind right screen edge in some situations
(window was near the right edge before). This is not seen if I disable effects (e.g. use metacity).
I have made screenshot of firefox and gedit before and after restart.

Note for reproduction: for gedit case there is a bug of gedit is not remembering its position
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/233832 so one need not to move window before closing.
The difference between metacity and compiz behaviour is that metacity creates window NOT
with right edge behind screen's right edge, but compiz does.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Does the same happens with a new user?

No, for newly created users the gedit behaviour is OK,
( including https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/233832 )

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Could you try to reproduce the same with Ubuntu 8.10 or 9.04? Thanks in advance.
