Bug Description
Binary package hint: compiz
This is with hardy beta desktop x86 CD, with all packages dist-upgraded as of 20080-Apr-10. If got lots of compiz eye candy turned on, but it's been running reliably with that configuration, so I don't think a config change did this.
However, I booted this morning, and after logging into the computer, before the gnome desktop had a chance to start, I did ctrl-alt-f1 to go to a console. I did a few things there, then ctrl-alt-f7 to get to gnome. All I had at that point was a white screen. I let it sit for a bit, and when nothing changed I did ctrl-alt-backspace. That reset things nicely. After logging into gnome, a couple minutes later I got the box that compiz.real had segv'd.
