Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

I updated to Ubuntu 8.04.
After that the X became extremely slow.
Seems like, it turned on compiz, for some reason.
So I turned it off, using System/Preferences/Appearance/Visual Effects/None
Then compiz was off, my X is fast again, a few seconds later I got this error message in a popup window.
