Workspace switcher causing panels to disapear when compiz is being used

Panels crash often when I use the workspace switcher and compiz, typically recovers. Maybe the problem is the new tool tips? or applets in general?

do you still experience this issue with the latest updates in Hardy Heron and/or under a new user account?, could you please provide the steps to trigger this bug.

The problem has stopped about a week and a half ago, (it is not present in a
new user account either),

To trigger the bug I would simply have to click on the workspace switcher to
change the workspace and 9 times out of 10 it would crash the panels,
