after rotating by 180 nothing but background is shown until compiz is killed

Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

Directly after applying the rotation all fonts disapeard (no menu, ...).
Then after reboot and (normal) login just the background is show.
No panel. System is unusable.
I did a init 1, deleted the $HOME/.gome* dirs, and rebooted (=> rotation was normal again) ...

the issue is likely a xrandr one, your lspci lists and intel video card, reassigning to this video driver

Reproduced again. This happens only if compiz is active (both levels).

Please attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log after triggering the issue rotating. Also attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`.

new finding:
- when only backgound is shown and all compiz processes are killed (using ssh from remote), all looks good.

Maybe this is more a compiz issue?

That's an interesting finding, I think if it were an X lockup it wouldn't come back by killing compiz so it does sound like a window manager bug; forwarding to compiz for further analysis.
