Bug Description

Using ubuntu flashback compiz lately (at least versions 22.04, 22.10 and 23.04 development), there are some abrupt crashes that create a white screen with an unhappy face mentioning that the system faced an error and requires to log out. I cannot do anything else but log out. Proceeding according to the message I can see momentarily that an ubuntu error report is pending, yet I cannot do anything since system proceeds to the logout screen. In order to fill this bug I found out to do the following:
1) crash happens
2) proceed to log out screen
3) log in again
4) go to /var/crash
5) check reports and see that the name of the files created are:
_usr_bin_compiz.1000.crash
_usr_bin_compiz.1000.upload
_usr_bin_compiz.1000.uploaded
which have exactly the same date of creation.
6) issue the command:apport-cli compiz
in order for this report to be created

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.
