Bug Description
Binary package hint: compiz
I did a restart from my Vista partition and choose Ubuntu on grub menu. Video was distorted (tearing) with short ~1/4" horizontal lines a few pixels high across the entire screen at the login screen. I logged in and did a ctrl-alt-backspace to restart gnome and the video was OK. I got the request to upload the crash following the restart of gnome. I'm within ~24hrs of the latest releases on an upgraded (from 7.10) partition.
