3D Games not fullscreen after upgrade to Gutsy

Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

After upgrading to Gutsy Enemy Territory doesn't show up in fullscreen.

Switching Visual Effects to None doesn't help.

Please let me know if more info is needed.

Seems to be a known problem with Xgl:

Still it would be great to see fixed.

Indeed. I managed to get some games to go to fullscreen, but then they on their own switched back to windowed, while playing (no, I didnt pressed alt-enter).

This is not Xgl only. I disabled Xgl (I think) with the disabled .configs option, but still same thing (although other things did improve instead)

ubuntu 8.04 amd64 nvidia 8600 gt
