Desktop crashed while mousing over Launcher

I run Ubuntu on a laptop. Recently I have experienced crashes of the desktop after opening up the laptop and mousing over the Launcher. I have the Launcher set to auto hide. The Launcher is longer then the window so normally scrolls when mouse get to the bottom of the window. Each time there has been a crash, I've been trying to mouse down to scroll to the launcher icons that are off the bottom of the screen.

The crash restarts to the login prompt. After logging back in, the launcher works as expected.
