Can't select cells in OpenOffice with Chart Wizard if Compiz is enabled

Binary package hint: compiz

Start the "Chart Wizard" in OpenOffice2.3.
go to Step "2. Data Range" and Choose the button Select Datarange.
Now the window changes to selection mode, but I am not able to select any cells.

Bug also happens on my system when compiz is enabled. Disabling compiz allows selection of cells.

There are other problem especially with OpenOffice calc in in combination with compiz.

This is another example with strange behaviour from OOO in combination with compiz.

I am not sure if it fits in this bug, but I hope it shows the problems that exist with compiz in combination with calc.

These problems are "show stopper" for me. I can turn a blind eye, because this is no LTS release, but this problems should be fixed till Hardy.

Bug confirmed here too under gutsy with all updates.

I try to desactivate/ change the options concerning focus (especially focus preventation window) because it seems that the little chart window try to keep the focus. So I thought it was a focus related problem but couldn't find a good settings in compiz-manager.

temporary "workaround" : type by hand the cells range of data, or select the data before and then in the menu insertion/diagram, and the data are already selected... better this that impossible to make a graph.

with Compiz 0.6.2 from beckport repository it works properly

The "Chart Wizard" is working properly, that is true.

But the "funktion wizard" is not working like it should.

I know this doesn't fit very well at this bug-report, but I had attached a video for some time ago.

I would like to close this report until both problems are solved.

I have tested Hardy Alpha 4 and as it seems the problems are gone.
So I change the status to "Fix Released" I hope this is okay.
If not then please let me know how to do it right.
