bouncing windows effect for raise/lower

Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

When I click on a window's titlebar to raise it, it leaps about wildly. The first time I saw this I assumed that it was a window manager glitch, but it's repeatable and after playing with it a couple of times I realise what it is: it's pretending that it has to slide the front window aside to get at the back one.

This is a very alarming effect and should be disabled. If bling is desired for this operation, something less freaky should be used instead.

In the compiz settings controller, change the "Dodge" effect to "None" on focus, and your problem is solved.

I too found it disturbing, perhaps the default behaviour needs reconsideration, as this is very distracting.

            said WTF!
