Bug Description
O.S : Ubuntu 14.04 64 bits
Used Mouse : Logitech MX performance
Concerned Compiz Version : 1:0.9.11+
I have assigned functions to my mouse button 6 ( left click on wheel ) to use exposed mode. After a recent compiz update ( ver: 20140409 ) , this function is out with this button ( same for button 7 - right click on wheel - ). It work only if the mouse cursor focused on the desktop or on the window title bar.
Note : It worked well with compiz version 20140328 and the same O.S
I have re-assigned this function with button 13 ( zoom function ) and it work again. Why buttons 6 and 7 no longer works correctly now ?
Thx

Hi galen,
Thank you for the bug report. I made some changes in Compiz to try to fix an issue with scrolling non-focused Gtk apps due to a change in Gtk in the 13.10 cycle. There have been a few corner case regressions due to my fix.
I take you aren't adding a modifier to the left and right click of the wheel such as Alt? It's just straight up button 6 and 7, right? As I take it, those are reserved for horizontal scrolling without using a modifier. I'm working on a another fix for allowing modifiers with the scroll wheels as I was a little too overzealous with handling the scroll wheel (see bug #1311788).
I'd like to ask you what your expectation would be if a window is horizontally scrollable and you push the wheel left or right over that window when you have exposed mapped as well?
I'll think about this some more, but I'd like to hear your feedback.
Thanks!
