Bug Description

In Trusty when I shade a window (Ctrl+Alt+S) it is minimised automatically leaving. Also when this happens some parts of window decorations are left behind:

When I unmimize the window it comes back but is unshaded automatically.

I tend to utilize shaded windows (and always on top) a lot in my work flow. This is a key element that I have LOVED about linux since way back when i first started using the OS (2007) as my full time desktop OS.

This really needs to get fixed... sure I can work around it... but I am sure others are affected as it is a fairly common linux Desktop Environment feature.

Another vote for this. I prefer using shaded windows over multiple desktops and the Ubuntu 14.04 Unity desktop is suddenly unusable for me because of this.

I too have this problem.

This is NOT a duplicate of bug #985430, but it is a duplicate of bug #1313446, which has been bumped to Critical status.

I read here( http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2225150 ) that:

"Shade no longer works with unity because the unity plugin for compiz
has taken over the drawing of window decorations.
Still works in a non unity session where the window decorations plugin is enabled. "
