compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in TfpTexture::enable()

This happens when I
- install Ubuntu Precise as a gues tin VBox 4.2 RC1
- upgrade to Quantal using apt-get dist-upgrade

The guest OS got frequent video corruption and left off of old images.
