Bug Description

Steps to reproduce:
A) Set your launcher is to always visible
B) Open a window on any workspace and maximise it.
C) Activate "Expo" (Super+S)
D) See how the launcher is being drawn once in the "virtual workspace" and once were it should be - outside the virtual workspaces area.

P.S. It' not exactly drawn in the virtual worskpace itself, but rather there is reserved space for it.
NOTE: Screenie attached.

Hi George, I am unable to reproduce this on my system. Can you try unity --reset to see if it resolves your problem? Or perhaps set all the multimonitor unity setting to default.

Also please include more information using apport since this seems to only affect certain users (until now only you) and not everyone. May be some specific package is acting up.

I by mistake ignored the part where it said "When Launcher Always Visible". I can reproduce this bug and hence marking it confirmed.

Good, cuz I was beginning to scratch my head :D
P.S. This does not happen with "Autohide" (and was not happening with "Windows Dodge" when it was there).

This bug is also reproduceable in Oneiric with Unity 4.28.0 so this might not be caused by the latest update.

I can confirm what sampo is saying ... definitely wasn't caused by Unity 5.8.x :)

I am guessing this is then related to the compiz upgrade to 0.9.7.2. Either Compiz or Unity are the only ones which can cause this behaviour.

I've been getting this behavior for a long time now...but if it's not by design, then I would love to see it fixed.

Oh no, this can't be a design call. It has to be a bug.

We'll just need to expand the window sideways like we do topways. Easy fix.

AFAICS, this fix does not apply upstream to lp:compiz-expo-plugin or lp:compiz-plugins-main. It's a downstream Ubuntu-only fix.
