Bug Description

Running Ubuntu 11.04 without Unity enabled, the Trailfocus plugin isn't active on startup and has to be disabled and re-enabled, or have its settings otherwise modified, to begin working. After this, it seems to work as expected until I log out, even if I run compiz --replace to restart Compiz. There's a similar bug reported for "Dim Inactive" in compiz-plugins-main.

The package version is compiz-plugins-extra 0.9.4-0ubuntu3 .

Confirmed here, with 11.10.
The setting doesn't stick between log-ins. Sounds like an initialisation problem - the state is not saved or recovered correctly.

I've posted a patch to Bug 808909 which fixes the Dim Inactive bug. Trailfocus seems to be working properly for me in 12.10 - I don't think this is the same issue.

To work around this bug, i first used sleep for 10 seconds. but doesn't always work on reboot. So i found that also putting terminal=true makes it work consistently every time.

[Desktop Entry]
Type=Application
Name=Compiz
Exec=compiz --replace
Display=true
Terminal=true
X-GNOME-Autostart-Delay=10
