from /usr/share/doc/command-not-found/README

"To use it in bash, please add the following line to your .bashrc file:
. /etc/bash_command_not_found"

The file /etc/bash_command_not_found does not exist.

Thanks for reporting.

The README still refers to this file in command-not-found 0.3ubuntu17.04.0 on Ubuntu Zesty, but it is not present in the package. I found it in the source though, but I don't know why it isn't installed alongside /etc/zsh_command_not_found.
