Bug Description
No idea what happened, I was actually hanging out in the Universal Access section of the system settings application looking around for a way to modify the antialiasing properties of system text because the Radiance theme was creating wierd subpixel distortions around the username and application title on the panel... not sure if that was a bug or not, but then this bug popped up.
