Bug Description

Binary package hint: cmus

A number of playback and mixer problems occur when using the ALSA output plugin with pulseaudio, as in the current v2.2.0 package in Karmic. A dedicated "pulse" output plugin is available in the new stable release which resolves all of these issues and should be made the default in Ubuntu.

This is a recent discussion about one of the issues: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_name=20100323090450.GB14769%40gregory-laptop&forum_name=cmus-devel

What used to be the cmus-unofficial fork has since officially taken over development of the project with lots of active work happening, so the package should be bumped up to the new v2.3.1. :)
