Bug Description

New mesa supports 10bit RGB configs, and this causes issues with cogl/mutter which get a random EGLConfig that breaks some autopkgtests. To fix this this merge request is needed for mutter

https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/merge_requests/36

and a similar one for cogl.

Changed in mutter (Ubuntu):
assignee: nobody → Alberto Milone (albertomilone)
status: New → In Progress

Any chance we could fix the aforementioned tests?

I've got 10-bit monitors I've been waiting to use with deep colour for years. It would be nice if we could make it work now Mesa 18 is ready.

You still can, by setting "allow_rgb10_configs" true in drirc for gnome-shell. Only the driver defaults were flipped.

Note that the modesetting driver does not support it, only after we get xserver 1.20 in 18.10. So for Intel hw you'd need to use the -intel driver until then.

That's fine. I knew I was aiming for Wayland sessions on 10-bit support, not Xorg. It might also take some additional mutter work.
