Rudi Huber (badphoenix), can you reproduce this crash? I just installed clamav on a 10.04, and ran freshclam and I don't get this at all.

You need to have an Intel Core i7 CPU with AVX extensions, i.e. Sandy Bridge I think.

When you see a SIGSEGV right after updating bytecode.cvd, then yes very likely it is that same bug
(thats fixed in 97.1 and 97.2).

Might be a good idea if the bug reporter could test the PPA package and confirm that it fixes the bug.

Yes, the actual PPA package would resolve the error.

When I run the command "catchsegv freshclam" i got also the following output:

That i5 also has AVX extension (according to /proc/cpuinfo output), so this can be marked as duplicate for bug #766519). Please follow that bugreport from now on. A fix is on the way for 10.04.
