Binary package hint: clamav
New version 0.94 fixes some security issues plus the new version brings new features such as a disassembly-engine for binary files and new logical signatures. The Anti-Phishing and PUA (Propably Unwanted Programs) Features have been improved (see http://www.clamav.net/press/0.94-WhatsNew.pdf ). |
clamav (0.94.dfsg-1) unstable; urgency=low
* New upstream version (closes: #497662, #497773)
- lots of new options for clamd.conf
- fixes CVEs CVE-2008-3912, CVE-2008-3913, CVE-2008-3914, and
CVE-2008-1389
* No longer supports --unzip option, so typo is gone (closes: #496276)
* Translations:
- sv (thanks Martin Bagge <brother@bsnet.se>) (closes: #491760)

I'm in the process of testing this with the various rdepends, but I think that given the way clamav works, we need to update and suck up the inevitable pain. The Debian maintainer intends this for Lenny for similar reasons and we are working together on getting the rdepends in shape for both distros.
Package builds fine on the Ubuntu toolchain and if history is any guide will work just fine, the only issue will be the rdepends.

Package builds fine on the Ubuntu toolchain and if history is any guide will work just fine, the only issue will be the rdepends. The rdepends do need patching. Since Debian already has the new clamav in Sid, I don't think this will be a huge problem. I've already uploaded a new klamav revision to Sid. For Intrepid, the rdepends are:
python-clamav
php5-clamavlib
klamav
havp
gurlchecker
