not able to mount CIFS shares

Bug Description

sudo mount -t cifs //nas/homes /mnt/NAS2/homes/

returns nothing. passing user and pass doesnt help.

same thing here, just after latest update. no error no nothing, just does not mount at all. no error log visible in /var/log.
