chuck doesn't suggest/recommend jackd, but seems to need it to work

Binary package hint: chuck

ChucK seems to need jackd or similar software to run, but doesn't say anything like that in documentation,
and doesn't Require/Recommend/Suggest it.

If my impression is correct, a Require/Recommend/Suggest dependency field
should be added to chuck package, with dependency on jackd or any other software it
might need to actually play something.

Chuck is able to use any of JACK, ALSA, or OSS. The default binary uses JACK, which should probably be in Suggests:, but the chuck package also includes chuck.oss and chuck.alsa for use of other devices.

I added JACK as a suggested package. I think I did everything right. If not, just let me know and I'll fix it.

This might be right, but it's hard for me to tell, and I can see that some additional work is required. Please start with the source for chuck 1.2.0.8.dfsg-1. Unpack this. Make your change in debian/control. Edit the maintainer field in debian/control as described in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebianMaintainerField, run `dch -i` in the base directory to update the changelog, and add notes about the two changes. Make sure the distribution name (after the version number) in your new entry is "gutsy". run `debuild -S` to create a source package. Create a patch by running `debdiff chuck_1.2.0.8.dfsg-1.dsc chuck_1.2.0.8.dfsg-1ubuntu1.dsc`. Attach that patch to the bug.

Now I'm confused. In your previous comment, the attached file appears to be the differences between the distributed revision and upstream, rather than the differences between the distributed revision and your proposed revision. Also, the changelog in that diff seems to end at revision 1.2.0.7.dfsg-1. DId perhaps the wrong file get attached by mistake?

Alternately, it may be because my previous comment failed to be complete (see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sendmail/+bug/83673/comments/7). My apologies for any confusion this may have caused.
