Bug Description

Not sure if this is a chromium issue, or nautilus, but the open file dialogue does not remember sorting preferences.

Steps to reproduce:
- Go to a page that requires a file upload
- Click upload, the select file dialogue should display
- Sort the entries by last accessed
- Close the dialogue.
- Open the dialogue again.

Expected results
- The dialogue should retain the sorting preferences

Actual results
- The dialogue always sorts by name.

Affects me too. I'd expect it to remember also its sizes and the widths of its columns (though, I can see that the columns' widths depend on content).

I think this is not a problem of Chrome, it happens to me on any open dialog from any program (firefox, Scite for naming two).

It's very frustrating, specially when you always work with recent files a lot, and have to choose them all the time like I do in my work.

So I think this is a bug from Ubuntu 12.04.

With 12.04.02 it is still not working.

Even if I have this:

$ cat ~/.config/gtk-2.0/gtkfilechooser.ini

[Filechooser Settings]
LocationMode=filename-entry
ShowHidden=true
ExpandFolders=true
ShowSizeColumn=true
GeometryX=0
GeometryY=0
GeometryWidth=1481
GeometryHeight=663
SortColumn=size
SortOrder=ascending

the open/save dialog always sort by size.

We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all reported bugs in a timely manner. This bug was reported some time ago and there have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time.

Ubuntu 12.04 (precise) reached end-of-life on April 28, 2017.

Does anyone still see a problem related to the one that was reported when using a currently supported version of Ubuntu? Please let us know if you do otherwise this report can be left to expire in approximately 60 days time.

Thank you for helping make Ubuntu better.
