Import bookmarks and settings: No supported browser found

I have installed chromium-browser and FIrefox and i want to import my data from firefox.

When i access chrome://settings/personal in Chromium and click "Import Data from another browser", i can not select firefox.

Yep, Chromium 16.0.912.77 (Developer Build 118311 Linux) Ubuntu 11.10 won't see Firefox 10.0, and Firefox can't see Chromium for import either. Strange really. I have tried putting them both as default browser, disabled Master Password in Firefox and trying to do import with FF both started and stopped and restarted them both but it's still the same problem.

Same problem here on Lubuntu 11.10 with Firefox 10.0.2 and Chromium 16.0.912.77 (Developer Build 118311 Linux). Can't import Firefox bookmarks into Chromium and can't import Chromium bookmarks into Firefox. :-(

Have a look at the first comment (from Joe Beck) at the article. This should be the best and cleanest way.

This is still broken in 17.0.963.79 (Developer Build 125985 Linux) Ubuntu 11.10

Both options for importing bookmark data or settings into Chrome/Chromium are broken. Why is this not getting fixed?

I believe this is cropping up yet again with Chromium in Ubuntu 13.04.
