I upgraded my ubuntu 11.04 to the latest 11.10 beta and installed mozilla and chromium yesterday. I need to use a http proxy at work: no problem with Mozilla (preferences-

It seems that chromium in oneric opens the gnome3 proxy settings, which sets the knobs in "gsettings", but reacts only to the old 'gconf' settings.
