Bug Description

This is similar to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chromium-browser/+bug/728267 but I do not have issues with middle clicking. In fact middle clicking should be the same (I assume) as right clicking a link then selecting "Open link in new tab", doing this works as expected for me.

The best way for me to describe this issue is by simply showing you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mitfmSI393E

When I click the + sign on the tab bar to open a new tab while viewing a page other than the new tab page the window loses focus giving focus to another window open on my system.

As a temporary workaround, you can enable the new tab page in about:flags which doesn't suffer from this bug.

That worked! That was getting pretty frustrating. Thanks!

Another workaround, according to the chromium dev tracker: http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=88124

It seems the problem is in the GTK+ theme, I switched to "classic theme" and everything works as expected.

Haven't tested other themes yet (blue is OK for now).

The duplicate upstream bug:

is supposed to be fixed now.
