Bug Description
I tried to create a Google Earth shortcut through the adequate Chromium feature. It did not work.
1) the desktop file landed in Desktop folder, not in ~/.local/
2) the desktop shortcut is not valid, it simply opens Chromium with a void url

Possibly a duplicate of bug #1732482, but we need more information in order to triage and investigate. Can you please run the following command in a terminal:
apport-collect 1901490
