Bug Description

I'm using Chomium 56 on Ubuntu 16.10. Nvidia drivers are installed in the system and compiz is active. Normally I don't have any problem running chromium but if I try to restart compiz while chromium is running, chromium windows crash and it also prevents compiz from restarting.

The problem happens when I restart compiz by killing it or using compiz --replace command.

Chromium does not vanish instantly, all windows and plugins crash separately. Each window goes blank and each plugin generates a "This plugin crashed" message. Chromium is still responsive after this point and you can refresh tabs, but since compiz fails to restart there is not much to do except restarting X session somehow.

Ubuntu 16.10 has reached end of life and is not supported any longer.

Is this issue still affecting zesty/artful with the latest version of chromium (60.0.3112.78)?
