Bug Description

Hello, I have a laptop with linux mint 17 (64 bits) with the Chromium web browser as the default one.
It works fine, but whenever I try to invoke the console mode (Ctrl-Shift-J) the cursor changes to a black dot (about 5mm diameter) and shortly after the screen goes dark with no possibility to recover it again. Tried lots of combination of keys pressed and the only thing to do is to switch off the computer with all work and navigation done completely lost.
Don't know how to solve this. Uninstalling and installing again Chromium does not fix anything, problem is still there.
When running another web browser like Firefox this does not happen.

If anyone knows how to fix this I would be very grateful, it's a desperately strange bug don't know how to cope with.
thanks a lot

As a little clarification on the above subject, this effect happened when I invoked the console mode (Ctrl-Shift-J) and then tried to emulate a web page on a mobile emulator already available on this console environment of Chrome.
It's clear that the emulation mode is ON (the 5 mm diam. black dot appears) and I cannot revert into the "normal" mode as the screen goes to black and I have no control of the PC.
Thanks

Carlinhos,

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. You reported this bug some time ago and there have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time. Your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates.

It would help us a lot if you could test on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running only once in a terminal:

and add any additional information that you think relevant. Alternatively, please confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the report. If we do not hear from you the bug report will close itself in approximately two months time.

Thank you again for helping make Ubuntu better.
