Launcher-icon shown twice when running

Chromium's icon in Unity's launcher is added to the starter a second time when Chromium is running.

Does removing and re-adding the Chrome icon from the launcher help? Probably the wrong desktop file is added.

I noticed this bug doesn't happen every time chromium is started but only sometimes.

I followed your advice, removed Chromium and added it to the launcher again by selecting »keep in launcher« (or whatever it's called in English).

Now, there is no more white arrow pointing on the launcher icon while Chromium is running as for other applications and as it has been before. Switching to Chromium by clicking on the launcher icon while another window is focused doesn't work either anymore. The launcher just acts like Chromium wasn't running.

The starting animation (flashing icon) also continues while Chromium is already running so it seems the starter somehow doesn't recognize it's running.

Didn't restart Unity after readding the icon, so after restart arrows came back. Will observe behaviour and report results in a few days.

I believe it should now work fine for you after you restart your session. Its one of those issues with software center adding the icon to the launcher I believe.

So it's a software center bug? Experiencing the same issue with Me TV now.
