Bug Description

gstreamer-properties-Message: Error running pipeline 'Video for Linux 2 (v4l2)': Failed trying to get video frames from device "/dev/video1". [v4l2src_calls.c(200): gst_v4l2src_grab_frame (): /GstPipeline:pipeline0/GstV4l2Src:v4l2src1:
Failed after 50 tries. device /dev/video1. system error: No such device]
libv4l2: error turning off stream: No such device

(gstreamer-properties:22777): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: Failed to deactivate pad v4l2src1:src, very bad

(gstreamer-properties:22777): GStreamer-CRITICAL **:
Trying to dispose element pipeline0, but it is in PAUSED instead of the NULL state.
You need to explicitly set elements to the NULL state before
dropping the final reference, to allow them to clean up.
This problem may also be caused by a refcounting bug in the
application or some element.

Description: Ubuntu oneiric (development branch)
Release: 11.10

Cheese 3.2.0

Expected my external webcamto function as it did in 10.10....instead the program froze.

Sorry, I am not sure I understand your answer. Do you mean:

a) the package has changed since 10.10 and that is why your webcam does not
work
b) the package has changed since you issued this bug report and your webcam
should work now?

We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all reported bugs in a timely manner. You reported this bug some time ago and there have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time.

Ubuntu 11.10 (oneiric) reached end-of-life on May 9, 2013.

Do you still see a problem related to the one that you reported in a currently supported version of Ubuntu? Please let us know if you do and in which version of Ubuntu otherwise this report can be left to expire in approximately 60 days time.

Thank you for helping make Ubuntu better.
