[Regression] Cheese stops when I try to record a video

Bug Description

Binary package hint: cheese

When I try to record a video with cheese it stops (block) and i must kill the process. with the old package it worked but not with this.
I use a HP Pavilion Media Center dv9315ea, the webcam is /dev/video0 USB 2.0 Camera.

The OS is Ubuntu 8.10 with cheese 2.24.1-0ubuntu1

I confirm this in 8.10.

This totally hangs when taking a picture or a video.

Hi, I'm a cheese developer, I really believe this is a duplicate of bug 290506.
I didn't find though any information about your laptop, can you confirm that your webcam uses uvcvideo driver? Could you attach here the output from lsusb and dmesg?

My webcam is integrated into a Dell monitor.
Might be the bug you talk about.
