Bug Description

Binary package hint: cheese

After performing a network upgrade from 8.04 to 8.10, my laptop built in video camera stopped working. The "Cheese" video capture application now reports no camera found.

It is a Dell Inspiron 1525. I am using the i386 Desktop 8.10 distribution.

I have attached the 'lsusb -v' output for the device.

Thank You!

Hi!

This is most probably a dup from bug #290506

Could you confirm to us if changing the resolution within cheese properties menu to 176x144would give you video?

thanks!

Changing to 176x144 worked after forcibly closing cheese. Using the preferences dialog, I set the new resolution. When I pressed OK, cheese hung. I forced it to quit and restarted it. Now cheese and Skype work fine.
