Bug Description

Binary package hint: cheese

I'm using a Dell XPS M1330, and I have an integrated 2MP camera in my screen.
The camera appears as /dev/video0 and functions... to a degree.
I'm only able to take photos or videos as long as my settings are on one of the two smallest resolutions: 160x120 and 176x144. If I go any higher, I only get a gray box instead of the preview. Additionally, if I then try to change it off the high setting back onto a low one, Cheese freezes. It also freezes when I try to close it normally (window X, or File > Quit, or Ctrl+Q), regardless of what I did in it.

I'm currently running Ubuntu Intrepid 8.10 Beta and the Cheese package version is 2.24.0-0ubuntu1.

An extra note: Cheese worked without any problem on Hardy. Could Intrepid be causing the problem?

I have a Dell XPS M1530, my webcam worked fine in Hardy.

After upgrading to Intrepid, I have the same issues. Video only works in 160x120 and 176x144.. I don't remember what the settings were in Hardy, but the video looked much clearer.

Driver issue?
