Bug Description

Hi

I'm using an Dell xps m1330. Cheese in hardy could take pictures and record video, the latter no longer works in intrepid, only static videos are recorded.

This issue still happens after the uv4l transition.

I can record video, though:

* if the resolution is above 320x240 it gets very choppy, maybe theora can't encode in realtime anymore?
* the first 4 seconds or so are a steady picture, that's about the time it takes cheese to initialise the cam (why does that take so long and why does cheese reinitialise the cam all the time?)

I can't record video even at lower resolutions. Same errors on log:

This is a regression from hardy, as this worked out of the box.
