webcam not initialized

ubuntu 20.04.01 clean install.
thanks in advance for your attention. polite comment, no yelling here. going thru transfer and setup machine previous install ubuntu 16.04 when usb camera was working.

webcam not initialized in cheese from my generic usb anivia webcam

issue fixed...i think.
cheese: had to select a matching resolution to enable camera. webcam
resolution was higher than default.
still have to resolve my no sound issue...so common, there are very many
possible alsa and alsa-pulseaudio related options.
