Follow up: Just came across this on Checkgmail's website http://checkgmail.sourceforge.net/:

CheckGmail and XGL/Compiz
Not being able to use the action links for each mail message is a known issue with XGL/Compiz/Beryl/etc. The problem stems from the popup window losing focus when the eventbox is clicked, causing the popup to close before the action is carried out. There may be a fix up soon, although I don't actually have a system which can run XGL and as such it's hard to debug.

The upstream developer solved the problem in <a href="http://downloads.sourceforge.net/checkgmail/checkgmail-1.11.1pre3.tar.bz2?modtime=1178536745&big_mirror=0>checkgmail_1.11.1pre3</a>.

If you can't wait for this release to hit the Ubuntu repositories, here's a quick and dirty workaround: Download the above file and move the file "checkgmail" in the archive to /usr/bin/ on your system.

Thanks for the followup. Is this fix going to be in Feisty (at least in
backports) or only on Gutsy? Cheers.

CheckGmail 1.12-1 (which is compatible with Compiz/Compiz-Fusion) will be in Gutsy.

Info:
CheckGmail 1.13+svn43-1ubuntu1
Description: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
Release: 10.04
Codename: lucid
kernel: 2.6.32-23-generic-pae
Avant-Window-Navigator: 0.4.0-0ubuntu1
Compiz: 0.8.4-0ubuntu15

Problem is simple, when I click to e-mail Subject, the mail's content is opened, but it there is any link, I click on it, then it doesent opens in some browser... the other way: right-click, when I click right click, the mail, and the checkgmail bouble disappears, only the local menu is displayed: "Copy Link", "Open in the browser"... these two links aren't works...

Thanks the support!

"Open link" and clicking to link is opens the links. "Copy adress" still not, I've ran the "checkgmail -update", and I have: v1.14pre-svn.

Compiz: 1:0.8.4-0ubuntu15

Strange according to the website

CheckGmail and XGL/Compiz
Checkgmail should now work perfectly with Compiz/Beryl/et al. If it doesn't, please try the latest version from SVN, and if that doesn't work, report it as a bug! :)

It should be working,

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, I am closing it because the bug has been fixed in Gutsy. It won't be fixed in previous versions of Ubuntu because the package doesn't fit the requirements for backporting. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuBackports for more information.
