cgdb freezes the terminal with the new Ubuntu 21.10

Bug Description

After upgrading to Xubuntu 21.10 (from 21.04) the cgdb freezes the terminal on several occasions and the only way out is to kill cgdb from another terminal.
example:
- open cgdb
- press Escape
- press o to open a file

or
- open cgdb and tile the terminal window to the left or right

Apparently this bug is fixed on the latest cgdb on github.
Could you please provide the newer package?
