Bug Description

If HDD is connected to the same IDE channel as CD-ROM, installation program can start
from CD in that CD-ROM but it cannot mount the same CD-ROM later and installation
procedure fails. If nothing else is connected to CD-ROM’s IDE channel, installation
program mounts CD-ROM successfully and installation continues.

Can you test with a recent Hoary live CD and see if this problem still exists?
(the live CD and the installation CD use the same code to perform this action)

No response for two weeks, closing. See bug #8196 and/or reopen if you still
have problems with the current CD images.
