error in sumcheck

Bug Description

I have gotten this error on all 4 attempts at doing the verification check on 4 different download and burns of Edgy knot 2.

I don't think there is anything wrong with my CD-media or drive but that the problem lays in the sumcheck program itself.

I can't test this O/S, if I can't get it installed !!!

/dist/edgy/main/binary-i386/release file failed the MD5 checksum verification. Your CD-rom or this file may have been corrupted.

I got that error using the alternative cd, but the iso md5sum and the one on the web matched and installation went fine anyway.

Thanks for your report. This is also bug 60188, and will be fixed in the Edgy release candidate.
