Bug Description

Binary package hint: brasero

I'm running Ubuntu 9.04 - Jaunty (after update) with all updates: Linux 2.6.28-11-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP Fri Apr 17 01:57:59 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux:

Whenever I try to burn an .iso image to a CD I get an unknown error.

Apparently it does not matter if I use Brasero, the Terminal or Gnomebaker:

It seems like I can always find this message:

Sense Code: 0x09 Qual 0x00 (track following error) Fru 0x0

The terminal-error output is attached an I will attached Brasero-error log shortly.

Thank you for your attention and help.

if you get the same with cdrecord and gnomebaker then thats not a brasero issue, the faulty seems to be the driver:

Sense Bytes: 70 00 04 00 00 00 00 0E 00 00 00 00 09 00 00 00
Sense Key: 0x4 Hardware Error, Segment 0
Sense Code: 0x09 Qual 0x00 (track following error) Fru 0x0
Sense flags: Blk 0 (not valid)
cmd finished after 0.046s timeout 200s

affects: brasero (Ubuntu) → ubuntu
affects: ubuntu → cdrkit (Ubuntu)
