Bug Description
When I insert an audio-CD and tries to rip a track using cdparanoia something goes wrong. First it will continue at the start of the progress bar until I breaks it. It always results in a wav-file of 44 bytes. I have tried with several different CDs, non copy protected with same result.
When I tried to rip the same track using K3B it complaind about something like kdeio_kios or similar, asked me to terminate the application. I answered yes but did not notis which application it was. The track was then ripped by K3B with no problems. After the success with K3B I was still not able to rip using cdparanoia directly.
Restart did not solve the problem.
This have been working fine in earlier kubuntu-versions I have had and is working nice in my gentoo install.
This problem occurred in kubuntu gutsy tribe 4 upgraded to (what I belive is) tribe 5 status. I use the amd64 version.
I think this is a concern of KDE IO rather than cdparanoia. I can change the behavoure of this is I toggle whether icons shall be shown on the desktop or not. If desktop icons is turned of I will get more contents in the wav-file but it still does not work. If I then choice to mount the CD it will result in the 44 byte length again.
I think this can be an indication that something is wrong with KDE IO system thus it must be addressed to that package.

Erik
