dpkg: error while cleaning up:
subprocess post-removal script returned error exit status 67
Errors were encountered while processing:
/var/cache/
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
- apt gave error also on first install attempt; now appears each time apt is used.

Stems from an issue with cdd-dev. From the debian-edu 0.826 changelog:
* Build-Depends: cdd-dev (>= 0.4.7)
Reason: The change in cdd to enable builds of Arch any for some CDDs
leaded to the error that postinst/postrm files now contained two copies
of the same code. This is fixed in cdd-dev 0.4.7 and thus debian-edu
has to be rebuilded.
Diff between cdd 0.4.4 and 0.4.7 (as pulled from snapshot.
====TEST CASE====
With a base install of Hardy attempt to install the package "education-
Hardy has education-chemistry version 0.822 and the fix was in 0.826 (according to the Debian bug report you referenced).
Intrepid has 0.835 so it shouldn't be a problem there. Marking as Fix Released (available in development).
If you test it in Intrepid and it is still a problem please reopen this bug.
