Bug Description

Binary package hint: initramfs-tools

using Ubuntu 10.10 and i can't install nvidia drivers, i can't install anything really, because it says pkg is locked or something. i'm entirely new to linux, but i googled this problem and it seems to be widespread with this release. i reupdated and refresh several times, and it took forever redownloading files and stuff, and it's still messed up, in fact it had this error at the end.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.
